Smart Digital Badge Setup and Care Guide

The 1st.now Smart Digital Badge Pin is a wearable, phone-controlled display for pixel art, animated GIFs, names, logos, and short messages. This guide covers setup, charging, and practical use. For product options and current pricing, see the Smart Digital Badge Pin product page.

Set up your badge

  1. Turn on the badge.
  2. Install and open the Zrun app on a compatible phone (iOS 12+ or Android 8.0+).
  3. Connect the badge through the app using Bluetooth.
  4. Choose or upload an image, pixel art, animated GIF, short video, or scrolling text, then send it to the display.
  5. Check the result on the badge and adjust your design in the app if needed.

The display is 1.85 inches with 360 × 360 resolution. Square graphics are a practical starting point for a round display; preview your design on the badge before an event.

Charge it correctly

The badge uses a 2-pin magnetic charging cable. It does not use a USB-C port on the badge. Align the magnetic connector with the charging contacts and use the included cable. The built-in rechargeable battery is rated at 500mAh. Runtime varies with brightness, animation, and usage settings, so test your preferred display mode before a full-day event.

Choose content for your use

  • Cosplay and conventions: show character art, pixel art, or a short animated GIF on a costume, jacket, or ita bag.
  • Trade shows and retail: display a name, company logo, booth message, or short branded animation.
  • Everyday use: update a message or image from your phone instead of printing a new badge.

Supported content includes JPG and PNG images, animated GIFs, scrolling text, and short videos up to 15 seconds. Use the magnetic clip, pin, or lanyard attachment that fits your outfit or event.

If setup is not working

  • Check that your phone meets the stated iOS or Android version requirement and that Bluetooth is enabled.
  • Open the Zrun app and try reconnecting the badge there.
  • If the badge will not turn on, charge it with the 2-pin magnetic cable and check that the connector is aligned with the charging contacts.
  • If an image looks wrong, try a square JPG or PNG and preview it on the badge before adding animation.
